What's Next?

What Do I Think Will Happen Next?
I think that she will be taken to some sort of human city by the boy. I don't think that she will be happy there though, because there is a third book and that book has to be exciting. I think that the boy is going to betray her in some way because he does not seem trustworthy to me. I am really excited to read the next book because I want to see more of her adventures and meet more weird creatures. If I could pick what would happen next I would involve some romance but who knows what the author will do. I think that Tony DiTerlizzi is a super good author and i am rally looking forward to reading more of his books.

Setting

Setting
This story takes place on a planet that was previously earth but is now commonly known as Orbana. Queen Ojo brought the planet back to life and it is a really weird planet. There are weird animals that are huge and there are walking trees. Most of the planet is wasteland but the wandering forest (predominantly walking trees) is a lush green forest. It is filled with beautiful and poisonous plants that Eva's Omni-Pod (a small device sort of like a more advanced computer) doesn't even know what they are. All of this is a surprise to Eva and a surprise to the reader which I really like.

If I Were In Eva's Shoes...

If I Were In Eva's Shoes...
If i were in Eva's place I would be freaked out. She is very brave throughout the book and I think I could have done what she did but it would not have been my natural instinct. There where a few decisions that I would have not made or made differently but he had to do certain things to make the story interesting. There where a lot of places in the story that I thought "what if?" Like when she is almost made in to a stuffed display in a museum I was wondering what I would have done in that situation. I wondered if i would have been calm enough to think of a escape plan like she did. A lot of these questions, I later realized, where almost impossible for me to answer because I had not been in those situations. But I felt so deeply connected to eva through what feelings she had felt that where feelings I knew.

Eva Nine

Eva Nine
Eva Nine is a human girl who has been raised by a robot designed to raise children in a sanctuary underground and train them to survive out in the real world. She does not like to think that she was raised by a robot and is very eager to go in to the real world. When that time comes (sooner than thought) she decides she wants to find other humans like she saw in her WondLa, a picture that shows a happy girl a robot and a man. She is very brave and determined and doesn't want to stop at anything. She is very much like a modern day girl although the book is set in the future. She is a strong symbol of bravery and is a very good main character.
I think that this is a symbol for Eva's bravery because she is out surviving on her own.

Theme

Theme
I thought that the theme was sort of like connection. Throughout the book Eva is looking for other humans because she has grown up with robots and other species. She also connects with Rovender and Otto. It seems like it is also a little bit of belonging because she wants to belong to a group of people like her although she already has a family with Rovender and Muthr that she doesn't realize. She really just seems to want to fit in and connect with someone though she already does with Muthr, Otto, Rovender and all the others she meets.

Mood

Mood
I think that the mood of the story is adventure. In some ways it could also be a love story but it is not a romance just sort of connection. But it is mostly adventure and adrenalin that take over quite a bit of the book which is one of the things I usually look for in a book. It was definitely one of the more weirdly violent books, not gruesome but a lot of fighting. It is really nice how throughout the book, Eva, Muthr, and Rovender are developing a functional dysfunctional family. I think this is a book for all ages because it has love adventure and is very well written.

Review

     Review
I loved the book and was very happy with the way the first book concluded. However it was not per say the ending. Tony DiTerlizzi is in the process of writing the third book and I have already read the second. If i could say one thing it would be... Finish the third book faster! I absolutely adored the first two books and am waiting, not so patiently for the third. Eva is the perfect main character and the book is very well written and unique. It is a great book for all ages and I highly recommend it.
